Sunrise Multispecialty Hospital's ICU ward chiller began losing cooling capacity overnight, with ward temperatures climbing toward unsafe levels for patient equipment. Our on-call technician was on site within two hours of the first call.
Inspection revealed a slow refrigerant leak at a brazed joint, which had left the compressor running under abnormal load long enough to damage it. We isolated the circuit, replaced the compressor, repaired the leaking joint, and recharged the system to factory specification.
Full cooling was restored in under four hours from arrival. The hospital has since moved onto our Commercial HVAC AMC package, which includes quarterly inspections to catch early-stage leaks before they cause downstream damage.
